Artists of Houston Season 2; Ep 2 featuring Romeo Robinson
Romeo Robinson is a Houston based artist with a unique and powerful style, as he depicts figurative works with a social awareness that is timely, and engages the viewer in a meaniful dialogue. As an African American male, he was dismayed at the lack of images that looked like himself in American Museums, this lack was to provide Romeo with inspiration and guidance in the meat of his work, as he depicts people of color, known and unknown in expressive large portraits. Romeo has a studio at the Bermac Building in near downtown Houston and welcomes visitors by appointment. Works can be viewed at the newly opened store in the African American Museum in Houston, see contact info below.
