Artists of Houston: Matthew Gantt on Constellationism
Our first podcasts features Houston artist Matt Gantt. Matt talks about his transition to full-time artist, and what inspires his work. Matt is located in Silver Street Studio 213, within the Sawyer Yards arts district. He is well known for the images he creates from his unconscious mind using a technique he terms “Constellationism”, wherein he randomly throws ink on a surface, similar to a Rorschach Test ink blot, and then enhances that image to reveal dreamlike, archetypal portraiture that blurs the lines between art, psychology and shamanism.
