This week I talk to the lively Carol Simon about her journey in becoming an artist. Carol has a beautiful studio at the Silos where she works, and exhibits her work. She has been instrumental in a beautification project of the First Ward, entitled, First Ward is Blooming! Carol’s process involved the upcycling of 10000 water bottles! Located at Houston Avenue and Edwards street, it is an evolving, living installation. Carol has beautiful abstract paintings made with alcohol inks on Plexiglas that dance in the light. She is experimental and open to the possibilities these mediums offer, and has a lovely body of work as a result of her ability to be free with the process. Carol speaks about some of these aspects of her work in our podcast. You can meet Carol every 2nd Saturday 12-5 during open studios of the campus. Enjoy listening to our lively discussion.
